Aviemore is my favorite place in Scotland! The butchers makes the best steak pies you'll taste. Oh and nice scenery too!!

Burke and hare? Hare was actually a protestant immigrant from ireland (newry co armagh) and burke was a catholic from strabane (co derry)

Was it the Queens on the corner in the town centre? I remember one of the guys working there had part of his ear bitten off- was a long time ago. It was his brother that always won at spoof! I have been to a few 'establishments' there, always a good night.

There was a pub called the queens but not in town centre. Pubs on corners near centre were the swan, white lion, corner pin, the anchor all sadly gone now. The swan was a big pub in town centre on corner right rough place with its fair share of loonies

I think it was probably the Swan then. Corner Pin rings a bell, but not the other two. Yes, there seemed to be an above average amount of 'loonies' as you put it but I must have been lucky not to have upset anyone. I do remember throwing a game of pool once to keep the peace!!
