Oh boy, I hate chasing masonry walls. I'm so slow!

How long does it take you to chase the length of a standard wall height from bottom to top?

Well on one of my apprentice jobs, hard round stones and decayed plaster vs a hammer and rock chisel.

A good 3 hours to do a couple of foot.

If I ever go back in to domestic I am buying the proper tools!

i do it by hand standley fatmax anti vibe hammer i dont bother with the chisel for the chase and it has to be a scutch chisel for boxing they are epic

I use a Metabo wall chaser but when the blades go, get blades that do masonry and metal so when you hit something it does not knacker the blades.

5 mins to chase out a 2 meter length.

i always tell the client it is there responsibility to ensure that they get a plasterer after we have finished chasing out, then i use my pneumatic drill it only takes me 2 minutes to chase out the channelling for all the cables in the room then.
