I got my a grade licence a few months ago, so I'm sorta new to giving quotes and stuff. A 'good' friend of mines dad(step-dad) installs motorised roller shutters(labourer, not an electrician) for a living and asked me(through my friend) if i could wire up motorised roller shutters for him. $60 each shutter. He didn't ask me how much I'd charge him, he offered to pay me $60(invoice, GST, etc) a shutter. LOL. So, i've been doing cashies and i charge $100 CASH(no paperwork:hearteyes:) to install a powerpoint(supply and install), so it's pretty suss because it would literally take the same amount to wire up a shutter and i'd be charging i guess 20% more. Now this labourer(certified peasant), don't tell him that, thinks he can offer me $60 to do that. Anyways, so he is going to install the shutter and motor. I have to run/install/provide cable, junction box, switch next to the window, in other words supply power for the motor and install a switch. I haven't replied yet and just want some some numbers from you guys. How much should i charge my lovely friends step-dad? I was thinking $120-$150 range. Thank you in advance.

Not knowing what the material costs, overheads and hourly rates are down under makes it a little difficult to comment.
$60 dollars per shutter sounds a bit light but you don't give to much detail on what you have to do to get power to these shutters also is it one shutter per site or multiple shutters.
While you might win on some jobs you will lose on others what you have to find is the best and the worst outcomes and pitch your price at a level you are happy with

So the task involves:
  • find nearby power in a wall or a roof cavity. junction box run cable to switch to supply motor with power.
  • run the cable(motor) to the switch along with the power cable. motor comes with a cable attached to it(2m)
  • mount switch plate inside house
  • supply and install an UP/STOP/DN switch

$60 for each roller shutter, in a house, so probs looking around 10 shutters a house

that makes a difference. c. 10 shutters per job, all on 1 site is a lot different to travelling to 10 sites with 1 shutter each.

Having to purchase the materials that you will need I would say $100.00 Per shutter

Dzoni98 with you supplying all the materials, plus finding a power source I think $ 150.00 is a fair price because you never know what you are going to run into and for $ 60.00 will just barely buy the materials
