I was going to call this thread spot the mistake but that would take up too much time, should be spot the correct bits

This is a certificate from a domestic job I went to just before the holidays the Electrician involved had done numerous things extremely badly mainly poor workmanship while adding to existing circuits and here's a brief list

10mm main earth on TNC/S with 25mm tails 100A incomer

No cpc on lighting circuit throughout but he'd fitted a metal light fitting in kitchen

No Rcd protection on circuits in the bathroom or kitchen

Used the cpc in a twin and earth to use as a three core strapper for the two way switching in the kitchen

New consumer unit was a mess of sphagetti, holes at the bottom where you could easily touch the busbar(I'll post pictures if possible later)

Connected the bathroom lights into existing double insulated single lighting circuit via separate Jb's which then had twin with cores cut off ie line to one jb neutral to the other this was again a mess of cable just left tangled

The shaver skt is jb'd to the shower circuit 6.0mm although he had put it on a 10A Mcb (I know you could argue this one but I'd seen enough of his work and as these rooms were gutted theres no excuse not to do it properly)

In the Kitchen (small kitchen approx 3 x 3.5m)

3 skts via 2.5mm t&e connected to the old cooker circuit 6.0mm on a 32A Mcb

There were 2 Skts/ 1 Fcu on a radial 2.5mm on 32A Mcb

1 radial circuit comprising of 2 x 2.5mm t&e feeding two skts again on a 32A Mcb
this meant that there were 4 circuits feeding skts within the kitchen, which I think is bad as customer turns the mcb marked up sockets off at the consumer unit thinks they've isolated it and gets a shock as only the one socket in the kitchen is fed from this circuit

Loose connections on everything he'd touched

A complete lack of correct labeling and the certificate is baffling I couldn't believe someone would be so stupid to actually sign it, its no wonder he refused to revisit the job which is about 300 metres from his own door step

He's not registered with a scheme and the LABC were not notified this is someone who works in a family Business mainly commercial works ie schools and supermarkets I hope he's on this forum and is suitably embarrassed!

just looked at page 4. the only thing that bears any resemblance to what it should be is the In of the MCBs. the guys talents are wasted here. he should be a storyteller on jackanory.

Client Details & Description and Extent of the Installation...

He filled neither in...he messed up on 2 out of the first 3 boxes lol. Complete clown. Would love to name and shame him to be honest.

I never said he put them in the right place, but you've got to give him some credit for getting something right on this cert/job!
I'm over his way tomorrow so I might give him a knock I'm sure he'll say he was just having a bad day

Appaling!!! And i get pulled over the coals for daring to put a max of 5 years on my EICR reports for next inspection recommendation instead of 10 on a domestic council property!!

To be honest you can put watever time period you want on a cert as a tester its your call. The Regs give a max time but if there are different factors it may have to be sooner. I put 6 days on one as well as a danger notice as no eath to building. Informwed everone but the queen about that as is was a residential home with not an RCD in sight

Zs lower than Ze - that takes some doing!
Complete *rse that needs wiping!

he should`v used this as a cert then...
