For 6.5K I would be expecting gold tails never mind that crap!

Prices around Cambs are extortionately high.
Someone I know was getting quotes for a 4kWp around May 2012 and more than one company quoted close to ÂŁ10k.
They eventually got 4kWp for a bit over ÂŁ7k.

With the local prices here, it's possibly a good opportunity for companies just outside Cambs to steal a bit of business.

That's shoddy as hell - I'd certainly be emailing pictures to them and asking that the boss and head electrician come to inspect the workmanship and ensure the so called spark who did it isn't allowed out by himself on a job again until he's properly trained and competent.

Anyone leaving work in that condition has lost the right to redress and earn't the right to be reported.

Anyone can make mistakes, but that's not a simple oversight.

Highlight your concern to the regulatory authorities and demand that they come look at this work.

Send MCS and Nappit an email with digital photos highlighting your concern.

Send copies of the email sent cc. (carbon copy) back to yourself, in case you need them for a legal case.

Whoever left work in this state, doesn't respect themselves and they certainly dont respect you.

Dont give them any courtesy, get an independent electrical assessor to create a report on the safety of your installation.

Get the regulatory authorities to come inspect it.

I think the Part P certification body would do somthing (NICEIC -NAPIT ETC)

Please post more images of the electrical side ...... have you checked around the inverter etc ????

good luck with it,

Wow.

just to add thats just unbeleveable.

as said

1. The tails are not double insulated, the outer layer is missing, any spark would realise that this is not just poor, its dangerous and completely unacceptable;the only thing protecting you at that point is a huge fat fuse.

2. Added to that the single layer of insulation is damaged anyway.

3. Not supposed to mess with the suppliers meter. He's not even covered his tracks.

4.his attempt to rectify is an insult.

he is either drunk, having a breakdown, or just incompetent.

i would go ballistic
give up sparty...
if you came into contact with that and represented a half decent reference....you would give up before that BS1361/BS88 ever did....lol..
