Morning all, been pondering quite a bit lately about Hybrid circuits, especially 13amp socket circuits, the likes of lolly pop rings etc.

I don't want to get into arguments about the pros and cons and why people install them, that's been done to death, whether, I personally agree with this method is neither here nor there, no, my question is, " how are these circuits tested, and how are the results entered on the installation certificate?" for example if you have installed a lolly pop ring how is that described? as a ring or a radial.

This show a single line drawing of an 11KV Spider Web. The drawing is based on where I served my time and cut my teeth on MV systems.

Three paralleled incoming feeds from the grid to our intake board. Four outgoing radials feeding the various plants. I’ve shown the substations with two transformers each, they could have more. I’ve also left out the bus-section switches at each substation.

The radials in the drawing end at the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] level, again it could and did go beyond.
As you can see if a radial leg fails a feed can bought in via the interconnects

Before E54 starts, we’ve talked before about a system that wasn’t really designed but evolved over many years.

From a bloke that won't stand looping in at switches and would have them ripped out if installed on 'his' job?

You can LOL your way off this thread, the double standards are that laughable.

Wrong i'm afraid, ....a switch looping system would never be installed in the first place, so no need to rip out what's not there!!

There are many hybrid ways to wire ring circuits, most you don't see anymore but all would still comply with current so-called Regulations. The only thing i can see laughable here, is your inability to see outside of the box,.... and just for you ...lol!!!

He's not too hot on change/improvisation! :smilielol5:

I think you would be surprised at what i'm hot, or cold on!! lol!! I don't think i've ever been on any project where improvisation wasn't or hasn't been needed!! And i reckon i've seen more changes than most here, doesn't mean to say those changes have all been for the better though does it??
