I feel stupid here

p11jor

Hi guys passed me 2392 a few months ago.....but got a complete memory blank.....what tests am I bulking my test leads for? !!!!

p11jor, most MFTs and SFTs only require the continuity lead set to be nulled. However, there is an exception to this general rule, Fluke 16xx series MFTs require the both loop test lead sets to be nulled also, if this is not done the Flukes can give strange and erroneous readings, a negative resistance for example.

MarkieSparkie thankyou.....I do have a fluke 1651 so I guess that's me! I have been just subtracting the resistance of the leads (0.12) from my results of continuity....the loop impedance is a three test lead and the earth loop is a plug.....what do I do in this situation?

Cheers
Phil

Thanks hasel5 I will get on that today!

Ah it's nightmare mate, the two examples I had the housing group went bust so I can't get access to my jobs.....so I have untill Wednesday to do two others and nic said they would just assess me on part p oppose to labc testing it etc!

Off to add a few sockets and a light in my mates cellar as we speak so should just do it.......on this one I am just going to do a 4 socket radial......should I just put these in conduit and surface mounted boxes oppose to dry lining the Walls etc?

TBH you really dont need it, just clip the two leads together with the croc clips for nulling of the continuity leads, and link all three pins of the plug lead together to null that out.

This is what I'm on about.......

Cheers man I will have a look into this, so to get it straight here I have a fluke 1651 and for my testing I have to null or subtract for continuity, and for loop? But not for earth loop, IR wouldn't make a difference and obv rcd is just a functional test within certain ms?
