Just a minor gripe...In the mire on an emergency this week, and had to visit CEF as no-one else had a 240v 16a appliance inlet...on the counter is a variety box of twist-nuts. "New product,fella..." well,it's not..."BS numbered, tested and approved.." the sales minion chirps, "And who uses these in preference to other, superior products?" i ask, "Well, lots of electricians have been asking for them..." So,my question is simple. Who are you? And,in the eventuality of a professional coughing, get ready for the "why?" :stooge_curly:

Maybe there's been a big influx of American sparkies in the UK and the demand for twist on connectors AKA fireman's friends (not to be confused with Fisherman's Friends) has gone through the roof ;).

Tidyboiler sucked a Fisherman's Friend a couple of weeks ago.

The trial starts 10:00am on Monday at Newcastle Crown Court..................

Nice one, lads, glad i wasn't the only buddhist at the boxing match...so the salesman was just "selling" then...wow,had a narrow escape, and will be also returning my time share in chechyna, how to be a millionaire in 6 weeks book, and copy of the "Watchtower"...

Found loads of porcelain screwits or dog cots as we used to call them , seen them a lot on VIR lighting in the past, I wouldn't use them thats for sure,,,
I dont like using jb for lighting either, don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind an adaptable box of similar.

I dont trust a jb that someone has stuffed 6+ cables in. your just asking for trouble

Nope I don't use them, came across the new ones on a job recently post a bathroom refurb, they all had bare conductors on show, all loose under loft insulation not a single enclosure insight.

Binned the lot & used Wago's
