Just need a bit of advice really. Im looking to get all the revision books basically i need and get my head down before i actually book in for the course. So looking for advice on really what books to get? Im also wondering do they charge alot for re-sits as i hear alot of people fail? Hence the reason i want to get my head in the books early and be fully prepared.

Thanks

Guidance note 3 is a must thats what the exam is based on I also have the practical guide to inspection testing and certification of electrical installations by christopher kitcher ISBN 9780750684491.

I think really the high fail rate is due to a lack pf preparation so think positive and dont worry about resit fees;)

Best of luck

The 2391 does have a low pass rate, but like any exam,if you study hard it is witin most peoples capabilities

Where I believe the low pass rate stems from , people underestimating the quantity of informastion that is needed
Doing a short course only usually never fully prepares a candidate, no where near enough
For every hour in the classroom, another ten of private study may be needed at least

By looking for this information, you are showing the awareness for the outside of the classroom study that will probably see you through
The ones who rely on little or none home study, they are more than likely the candidates who would need to find out the cost of resits
Good luck

good luck with it. get the terminology correct from the start and that will help you as well. ie an insulation resistance test is NOT megger. measuring continuity is done with a low resistance ohm meter etc. also have a good look a drawing fault loop paths for the different earthing systems some good marks on this one.

hi, I passed 2391 18 months ago and the gn3 is a must as you have already been advised. that along with the OSG and loads of past exam papers should be enough. Do some past papers as if you where in an exam situation giving yourself the 2 and a half hours to complete it.
As has already been advised you cannot study enough for this one, but you seem to have the right attitude and the very best of luck.
