Imersion tanks

Debate in wholesalers, do immersion heaters have to have a dedicated MCB and supply, or can they, say, be fuse spurred off a ring main? Had a quick flick in regs, but I'm shattered and can't think straight.

over 2.5kW ( ish) on own circuit. says so in the scriptures.

I thought it was a recommendation (OSG?) water heaters over 15 Litres have their own radial.

IMHO, for new installs and rewires, immersions should be on their own dedicated circuit.

OSG Appendix H5; EGBR 4.5 and GN1 C4 all advise "Water heaters fitted to storage vessels >15 litres ... should be supplied by their own separate circuit."
