*Thread Title Correction* Impedance

Hi, I'm going over some choice revision for my 2365 Lvl 3 course and have come across the question "What is the impedance of a 200V 50Hz circuit containing 8A?". Although I am presuming I need to use AC Theory, I have gone over all of my notes on impedance and looked through books/online and can't find anything that can help me. If it is AC Theory, I'm not sure what to do with the 8A(amps?) and surely it should be replaced by a figure in Farad's or Henry's??

This is probably a very simple question that I covered last year as I unfortunately lost a bunch of notes and my memory is awful! Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Kyra1509

If I might add a pedantic note, Ohm's law only states that the current through a conductor is proportional to the potential across it. It makes no reference to the relationship I=V/Z or anything to do with AC complex impedances. That is a generalisation, not Ohm's law itself.

Thanks LN, I for one am after a deeper and better understanding of the science on which electrical engineering is founded, and in participating in this thread have rediscovered things that I had forgotten or been introduced to a deeper understanding of Ohm's law. However, I am more interested in ways to support the development of knowledge, skill, competence and confidence. I wonder how the progression of this thread has enabled the development or increased the dependence of the OP, or perhaps both.
