Discuss In defence of the short course trainee in the Electricians Chat - Off Topic Chat area at ElectriciansForums.net

I spent many, many weeks becoming a Electrical Trainee.......... well...... 5!

Well actually 6 months, but its the same thing.. and I stand tall and proud with my Part P badge!! (whilst secretly wishing I new more!)

Have just got off the phone to a training provider (inquiring about the 2365) and he said from the 1st June Napit and NICEIC would not be accepting the 'Domestic Installer' course as entry to themselves. He did say anyone already with them (domestic installer) would be ok.. But you hear so many stories!! I just want to know more!

nowhere near enouth for me.

if i had the reigns of power i would be saying its 3 years at college..backed up with practical experience for those three years....such as an apprenticeship...

anything less and you cant come in....

it really could be that simple boys....

I don't live in Birmingham, I've escaped!, I live in the tropical climbs of Tamworth now!, and that's Staffordshire I'll have you know!

The main difference is, I have a river in my front garden, and we have ducks that come and see us.............and no one steals or eats them!!!.........in brum not even the rats are safe!!
went to Birmingham once....sparkhill....thought it was tatty....

bit like much of Leeds really...

stoke`s another shed.....

Sheffield is the best city on the planet no If's no but's

Oi steady on big lad, but it is getting that way , it was very different back in the day, a thriving city

Yeah mate the country is foooked, everywhere you look the areas are deprived and run down, it's a crying shame

Back to the the title of this thread!!

If i haven't stated it before in this thread (not going to read back 18 pages) ....There is ''NO DEFENCE'' whatsoever, for short course fast track training, and that as far as i'm concerned, is an end to it!
