hi guys. Enrolled in my 2365 level 3 on Friday got a bit of homework to do. Can anyone help with the formulas to work out the reactance of the circuit and along with the current?
Thanks in advance

Thats a whole can of worms you are opening up there. Assume you have been introduced to Xc and Xl and Cos etc. And things like that? So have a look at the examples from a little book that is my bible for these things.

The book by the way is by Andrew Butler called Basic Electrical Formulae. It is old and there are parts you have to insert the Amd 3 Cmin, but the formulae are timeless and examples are gold imo. Think you can still get it on Amazon. I strongly recommend it. I hope that is what you meant, I am rather assuming you are talking impedance which is a combination of the two factors above giving you cos which is the PF.

What did help me a lot to get to the bottom of the above is looking at vector diagrams on you tube it really helps visualising the hypotenuese calcs as you can see it from above so to speak, where the sine wave becomes a circle.
