I have posted this before on a similar thread.
If you were desperate to get to work, and you turned up to pick up your top of the range mercedes, and there was a Nissan Micra sitting there, and the company said, soorry its all we could get but do not worry, it will get you to work Ok.
Would you except it? well would you?
I am just as aware as others how difficult things are, but there are some unlawful pactices going on, and I am sure some-one will end up in court soon.
Come on lads, if you have to change products, because of supply problems, be upfront with the customers...

Thanks SRE, much appreciated, you must be really busy right now.

Have been offered a reduction to same price per watt and if as you say they are better panels (have seen the criticism of lack of robustness of the Sharps in other postings) then it seems they are playing straight.

Must check out the insurance aspect though, again useful reminder by dpelectrical, brilliant forum this!

To be honest i'm not sure it is about price reduction, while certain panels are definitely cheaper, at the moment from what i see wholesalers are playing silly buggers. with prices and 'cheap' panels are now as expensive as others.

Certainly shouldn't be changing kit without informing customers, serious malpractice in my book. But a price reduction is not always feasible. I've changed mounting kit on a few, doubt they would even be aware, but i have informed them anyway. It about what you can source, and what is available.

As far as i understand the NFU will still not insure your system if you use any Indian kit or some Chinese kit due to fire risk ! Well that was the official line i was told only a few months ago ?

Thanks I will check that out first thing in morning I didnt even think of any insurance problem.

we priced 2 options for client SANYO £12600 or £10200 upsolar client went for SANYO we had payed for them but never turned up! fitted ET solar (took a week due to collecting the kit and finding brackets) plus client very fussy! no swa wanted black conduit! all takes extra time! still only charged upsolar price ! probbably made £1000 on that job due to HASSLE but would never charge the top price even though it really wasnt worth the hassle!!! got a nice letter complementing me and my fitters !!

Getting ET panels fit on Tuesday, are they any good mate.235w for a 3.525 system i think.

It seems wholly ironic that with Europe in the mess it is at the minute we're all going to have to support the Chinese and Indian economy as a result of the Fit cut.

I pointed that out to my local MP Stephen Barclay who graciously took the time to reply with quotes from DECC's press release. He them armed with the knowledge gained, voted in favour of the destruction of our industry.

I got the same back from my MP, just a load of guff from Greg Barking that I'd seen a hundred times elsewhere. My MP is going to take my own impact assessment to DECC as soon as I send it to him. If I could just find the time at the same time my brain was functioning!!

You customers need to watch what you're doing, you're getting so stressed out you'll have had heart attack by the time we install and won't be able to pay us
