Discuss Insulated tweezers any recommendations? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net
Shouldn't be working in live DBs Mate??!!I’ve also got a pair of the knipex plastic pliers- good bit of kit to have,
I frightened myself into buying them when I blew the end off a pair of pliers on a 100A supply.
I now use the plastic pliers and wear goggles in live DBs!
Pffft live a little you lot need some entertainment it your lives......... ;o))))Don’t go poking around in a live CU.
Insulated or not, needle nose pliers are the answer.
It would be a last resort to work on a live board, not an everyday event. We have all worked on live db’s....
the discussion here is about how to hook a particular cable among a load of live ones.
If you’re poking a finger, metal hook or long nosed pliers into a tangle of live spaghetti it’s easy to find a loud bang and an extra 4 hours of work repairing a problem that wouldn’t have happened if the board was isolated.
Did it yesterday, 5 mins work reconnecting up a security light. It would be a last resort to work on a live board, not an everyday event.
