It gets worse, you should see the 3 phase Switch/fuse isolators on the oven circuits. I'll post them on Inspection and testing forum

I’ve also got a pair of the knipex plastic pliers- good bit of kit to have,
I frightened myself into buying them when I blew the end off a pair of pliers on a 100A supply.
I now use the plastic pliers and wear goggles in live DBs!

Shouldn't be working in live DBs Mate??!!

I think most of us have worked on a live board, sometimes you have no choice. EG fault finding, can't switch all the circuits off when conducting an IR test on dead circuit.

We have all worked on live db’s....
the discussion here is about how to hook a particular cable among a load of live ones.
If you’re poking a finger, metal hook or long nosed pliers into a tangle of live spaghetti it’s easy to find a loud bang and an extra 4 hours of work repairing a problem that wouldn’t have happened if the board was isolated.

It would be a last resort to work on a live board, not an everyday event.

Did it yesterday, 5 mins work reconnecting up a security light.

Well all my garden lights off the neighbours CSU if I had turned it off he may have twigged somethings up. Next week I connect up the sauna and hot tub.........
