Hi all, i have a cast iron street lamp to install in someone`s driveway and have looked at reg: 559.10.3.4

Is this telling me that i need to have a minimum 6mm² csa earthing conductor out to the lamp

May be reading it incorrectly

err No
read it again,
same as neutral ie, do not use t&e use SWA, so 3 core 1mm is fine cos earth same as neutral conductor 6mm is max size

The earthing conductor of a street electrical fixture shall have a minimum copper equivalent cross sectional area not less than that of the supply neutral conductor at that point or not less than 6mm², whichever is the smaller.

Makes no sense to me. It must be how i absorb it.
I did not think that there would be an earthing conductor at a street electrical fixture. CPC yes

I think you will find that applies to street lighting on the public highway, not in a private garden.

The 1.5 3 core SWA will be fine.
