Discuss Inverter - Loft space or garage? in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

DC Volt drop on domestic installs generally irrelevant.
Schott and Shuco both good panels
Mono / Poly, I spent a long time with the manufacturers and no-one could give me an answer, for some reason poly is slightly cheaper, they cost the same to manufacture.
Hybrid merely give greater output / m2 so relevant on smaller roofs where you get more kWp / m2 sometimes the extra cost doesn't make up for the extra output though.
Some panels do perform better under different conditions get the suppliers to give you a PV*Sol report not just the SAP figures, that way you'll be able to compare the total effectiveness of panels and inverter combination.
If they are not using PV*Sol and just using the back of a smoke packet then they haven't designed the system properly.
Where would YOU like the inverter - tell them, actually it's costs about the same to install in either location, sometimes there just isn't a convenient place (garage / near the cu etc) - what about outside - most inverters are rated for outdoor mounting. Some inverters hum, some have fans..
