yes,Milwaukee,Aeg ,Atlas Copco, and Kango are all part of the same company,if you search online you will find the details, also online product registration for Aeg and Milwaukee are at same place,I know this from speaking to a friend who deals in power tools, apparently a large company bought up all the others to aquire certain popular pieces of kit,eg when they bought Kango they did away with most of Kango,s tools, angle grinders, drills etc but kept up production of the Kango we all know, although it has evolved into the Milwaukee brand name the basic components are still of the old Kango type, quite interesting when you go into it,either that or I need to get out more.

If the OP is wondering about the quality of AEG kit, I have an impact driver and a drill/driver and can't fault them.

Quality of milwaukee tools has almost certainly degraded recently.. I saw a combi kit in the wholesaler recently and it just felt wrong(?) sounds silly i know, but it did.. To confirm my suspision, when i took my main drill to be serviced because of a bit of a rattle inside, i was told "your going to have to go somewhere specialist with that mate, thats the old one with the all metal gears they are more plastic these days"

how long does the battery last? ive noticed toolstation is selling an aeg kit for £120 12v battery

Wouldn't know about that version, I use the 18v Lithiums and they go days and days between charges.

I'd personally put Milwaukee drills up against any other well known brand!! For the last several years the main contractors that have be on my projects have all used Milwaukee tools. What i know of them when i've had cause to borrow one, is that they are solid bits of kit.... Got to be a good reason for main contractors to go with a particular brand over another. And they always have there own site repair workshops to service and repair....

AEG as i know it, is there lighter duty outlet brand, nothing wrong with them at all, they can often out perform some of the better known equivalents...
