Could you clarify if this is dangerous the wire that change from from blue to red seem to be have been extended by twisting together as there no block connector there as there is further on in the circuit this seems to be some sort of extension to wire up the light above the mirror in the holiday flat as its only to a light will be ok?
if there was a leak from the flat above would that make it a hazzard ?

Thanks
Steve

Depends on what the cables do, if it is from a battery door bell NO, if to a speaker from a stereo No, if low voltage feeding a circuit from a distribution Board to a light for example then Hell yes, very Dodgy. as you say it is to a mirror light then dodgy for sure.

As Mike said, if it's mains powered then yes it's bad. As everyone else said, who the hell did this?
Whoever it was should be publicly flogged to within an inch of his/her scumbag worthless life.

WOW you guys are quick its in the holiday home we stayed in they dismissed it and it was shoved down behind the mirror with the edge of a screw driver probebly damaging the insulation even more.
It worried me and i wanted to get an opinion of proffessionals first

bigbaddave called it first.

OP you're after claiming aren't you!

If it was shoved down behind the mirror...im guessing you pulled it out to take the picture? What the hell even possessed you too look behind the mirror whilst on holiday, slightly random - unless you're going around looking for things you can maybe make abit of cash on.

Don't get me wrong, its bad, dangerous and it wants correcting but come on

You are correct>
But Ive not mentioned the wiring other than in my first letter with pics which they did the same as the so called electritions in resort and passed it over.
From the complaint point of view im claiming on many other negligent health and safety and hygine issues than the wiring which is a unreal when you look at the comments on how dangerous it is.

I need to get this sorted as the Hotel has 500 other rooms and the room next to us was the same so it seems like the norm are those block conectors classed as safe?

Im guessing you've never been abroad then have you?

steve, you're trying to make out you've got other peoples health and safety at heart when all you're after is cash in your pocket. Block connectors are perfectly safe when not exposed to joe-public(and they wern't really untill you fished them out - not saying its safe at all, just stating facts). Im reluctant to comment to be fair, because you're gonna use posts from this forum as evidence, fact. And, i'd rather not get involved in some petty little compo-claim.

Advise the hotel by all means, but i can sense you're planning to milk this.
