Hi all,

I want to be a electrician and been looking into how to become qualified and from my searches i found this website:

https://www.electriciancourses4u.co.uk/

And just wondering if it is a legitimate way to learn the trade? Seems too good to be true to me...

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Phil

Save your money and time. I am "very impartial on these matters" BUT.... They have this on their web site:-

"Our full Domestic Installers and electrician courses we offer last for 15 or 20 days, however, if you can’t afford the time to take the entire course all at once you can break the course up into modules which you can attend whenever you are available. If this sounds like what you’ll need, just call us on ************* to discuss your options."

Please do not throw your money down a drain on this form of "education".

After 15-20 days of tuition you will be able to carry the toolbox of your Gaffer and also be able to sweep up after him. Give it a month or two he may let you pull some cables in! This is about how far that "education" will get you.

The above is not
nastiness, just real world truth.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. If you want to be an electrician you need to work with experienced electricians and also get the technical knowledge through college. Done right you will be an electrician in 4 years not 4 weeks.

Thanks for the advice, i was under the impression it was a load of rubbish. Anyway this leaves me with where to study? Where do members think is the best place to do a apprenticeship in East Sussex?

It is a load of rubbish, stay away from this outfit. They cant even get their website right lol.

Google search your local "Electrical Colleges" and speak to them. Apply/enroll soon as the application form is put in front of you.

Lets put it this way...... If your child or younger brother/sister whilst in school was offered a 4 week course instead of a proper 4 year schooling, would you advise him/her to take it? NO is the answer.

What have JTL got to do with registering apprentices? They’re just another parasite that give little in return for the blood they take.
they dont charge tony, thanks to them i got a job.

ill soon complete my am2 paperwork.

to finish it i need to do some ducting, ladder rack or powertrack and some faults.

a joke really that you have to do all the faults to qualify, how often do you come across loads of different faults if your an installer
