Hi all,

I want to be a electrician and been looking into how to become qualified and from my searches i found this website:

https://www.electriciancourses4u.co.uk/

And just wondering if it is a legitimate way to learn the trade? Seems too good to be true to me...

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Phil

Who are you doing you qualifications with, JTL or C&G?

Do all employers recognise JTL?
city and guild qualification through jtl

i have my c+g 2330 electro technical previously to starting the 2357 (2330 was done at college)

when you do it through jtl you have the choice of a local college or there training center

Thanks for the info, I wasn't too sure as I'm not going through the process but all I knew is Leeds college used JTL for all their onboarding each year, must save the colleges time I guess

LCB! At least the electricians can build a stud wall or skim a ceiling at the weekends for a bit of extra cash lol

Only joking, local rivalry and all that, I'm old school LCT (it changed to LCC). Always nice to have a bit of banter  They do have some good electricians coming out of there. They have very good pass rates for the 2394/5 btw?

whats hard about building a stud wall, its just a bit of wood.

boarding is easy as well the only thing i haven't tried is plastering

I did my 2391 there and passed it, so that goes to show how the tutors there are.

i have the emails for here set as spam now, I got that sick of it lol.

I did it at LCB.

Did they teach you how to skim a ceiling at the same time? If so, I've got a little job that needs doing pmsl.

I wanted to go there for my 2391 but could not get in for a year due to demand! Went elsewhere and wish I didn't. Rubbish teachings, no help what so ever, money spinning training center! But it was the only option at the time. Anyway that is history now, learnt more doing the job, reading books and this forum than what they could ever teach a man.

Its wood, it splits the moment I touch it. One of the few things I’ll admit I’m a disaster with.

Now if you want a welded steel security wall I’ll happily undertake that.
lol, i could hang doors etc but i would be really slow compared to a chippy.

never tried welding, i will try it eventually.

one of my next door neighbors is an ex army engineer's welder so if i need anything welding ill ask there advice

Same problem, I cant do good boxing (cable/pipes etc). Most other wood related work looks great, just cant do boxing so it looks good.

As for welding, I'll try and find a couple of pics.

pilot drill the wood and use little nails or small screws then a little wood filler and paint

Ask him if he’ll teach you, it’s a useful skill to have.

will do
