I'm guessing they didn't send this out for peer review. Or (unkindly) they were drinking the Coporate Kool Aid ...

[ElectriciansForums.net] Is this the real bible eicr code breaker

I am conflicted about suppliers equipment from the posted pages. It implies there is a requirement to code the condition of supplier's seals, which I don't think is true (?). Nearest I can see is a statement in BBB p476 "where inadequacies in the intake equipment are encountered the inspector should advise the person authorising the work..." . Myself, I don't see the lack of an intact suppliers seal (on its own) as a electrical safety concern.

It tickles me that all our certs and reports want us to state the suppliers fuse size, but now we are to code ourselves if we have a look  .

It is a Statutory requirement for the Suppliers fuse to be locked away.
I'm blissfully ignorant - do you have the ref please? Also, not sure how can that little piece of wire be considered to be locking the fuse away (?). And I still don't see how it can be a safety issue for the installation I'm reporting on (?). But happy to learn :) .

The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity
Regulations 2009

Equipment on a consumer’s premises
24.
(2) Every circuit breaker or cut-out fuse forming part of the fusible cut-out mentioned in
paragraph (1)(c) shall be enclosed in a locked or sealed container as appropriate.

The main problem is people believing there can be a definitive answer for everything. Each situation has its own code for a reason, it ultimately comes down to the opinion of the guy/girl on site. This is why, I believe, EICRs should only be completed by experienced electricians
