Plus the almost total lack of oil and gas.Having to rely on Russian gas is a pain for angela merkel, but a necessary one due to the high risk of tsunamis and earth quakes in Germany....
I disagree that the plane was diverted into a no fly zone. Assurances had been given that no aircraft would be fired upon if it were above a certain elevation, MH17 was well above the elevation specified. Other airlines were flying exactly the same route, it appears to me that whoever gave the order to bring it down wanted to test the resolve of the west.
So are you claiming that it's part of a conspiracy theory?
I think the biggest immediate threat in reality is the home grown jihadis who have joined forces in Iraq and Syria who may well return home ...
if the numbers the media report are involved then some will definitely slip through the net and commit atrocities on civilian targets ,this will cause untold resentment towards the Muslim communities creating more wannabe jihadis ,
ironic really when most Muslims see Islam as a tolerant religion that the most idealised cannot see that what they are actually doing is ignoring foundations of the religion they claim to be defending.
