Isolator fan switch

I have a new fan for the bathroom and want to know how to wire it in. I know i take a lead from the lights, but i am not sure how i wire up the isolator switch.

Do i just take a link from the fan to the isolator or do i also take a link from the lights ?

He means a flexible cable not a twin and earth. You should only need a switched live coming from your light and a constant live from the live side of your switch through iso to fan so this would be a twin and earth from light to iso and three core and earth from iso to fan

the isolator will be in the cupboard in the hall next door. This is all to do with my attic conversion.

if light is wired " loop" then his permanent live is from the light, 3 core.

Do check the manufacturers instructions as some fans require additional fusing you may have to cut into the lighting circuit to add a fused spur and protect with a 2 amp fuse
