Hello all,

Just a quick question, as i am a little unsure on the application for the gold card.

My qualifications are;

C&G 2330 Level 3
C&G 2330 Level 2
C&G 17th Edition
C&G 2394
C&G 2395

Would this qualify me for a JIB Gold card??

Cheers

I know now.. can see that.. saying that if 3 years aint enough to qualify then thats crazy

Did you bother to read.

It quite clearly states technical certificate and nvq

The 2330 is only a technical certificate.

They keep telling you the 2330 framework.

You need 2330 lvl3 and nvq 2357 and am2 test

You will have to go back to college to do the enviromental unit (I know I did 2330)

Not up to date on the latest c&g course numbers but I assume that 2330 is the old 236 part 2?

Yes, but there is no part 1, 2, 3 in the old 2360 it was A, B, C. ... A being one level exam (fundamental) taken 1st or early 2nd year, and B + C another. Taken generally together 4th year. There was no Lv 2 or Lv B stage in the course, not when i took them anyway.

Oh, and there wasn't any multiple choice questions either, so you either had to know the answers and answer in full, or you failed. They didn't allow calculators into exam rooms at one stage either, ....Oh my god, that would have excluded about 90% of todays students!! lol!!

Thanks for the replys guys.

Ive spent the morning phoning around etc to see how i can get this.

The ECS card says for the electrician gold card;

''Apprenticeship Deeds or Completion CertificateOR City and Guilds 2360 parts one and two OR full 2351 OR 2330 Levels two and three AND NVQ Level 3
in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation – Buildings and Structures) (City and Guilds 2356),
OR Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (Buildings, Structures and
the environment) (City and Guilds 2357)''

No where does it mention AM2?

Am i wrong or is this requirement somewhere else?

Cheers

You'll get away with just sending NVQ3 certificate, references, passport photo.
i sent all my 2330 Certs level 2/3. Am2 cert. apprenticeship completion cert and NVQ 3 cert.
( no 17th edition necessary. I Completed apprenticeship to 17th edition regs)

Without NVQ3 you won't get a gold card. Probably improver.

Are you sure the AM2 is part of the 2356 nvq??

''[h=2]AM2 Exam[/h]
Originally part of the pre-NVQ assessments, the AM2 is an independently administered practical exam and multiple choice test that take place at various centres across the country. The AM2 now forms the final unit of the C&G2357 qualification (2357-399) and must be completed to gain the whole qualification.''

Only mentions the 2357, so it looks like if i do the 2356, i won't have to complete the AM2 to get the gold card, correct me if im wrong?

Cheers

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
