hi, i`m an electrician....
i have just completed a month course at the building skills for life initiative centre near where i live. I have just got my 17th through them and have been credited with the BSL certificate of competancy award. Does this mean i can now go round doing houses as this is what i was told by the centre. I have heard something about part P but i am not sure as they did not mention that i needed this qualification. Is this true? if i needed to be part P qualified then i may have been better just doing that rather than go through all that months studies.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.;)

well...can i get any of those boards thingys then?...
i have been asked if i can sort boards out and i said yes....
has anyone got any test gear i can have as i cant find mine

well thanks for the warning about that Dillb....i`d better stear well clear of them then..

I find when running low going round a old dears house and scaring the living day lights out of them about how there board is illegal and they need a new one fitting works well.

rip out there old board then just connect the old cables into the main fuse. Tell them it's how they do it now days.

I can bung you a few BILL switch fuse boxes circa 1937,never fitted complete with wooden bobbins of fuse wire,a beautiful amalgamation of cast, ceramic and asbestos.....in 30 years,i'm going to be the dullest visitor to "Antique Roadshow"...

Welcome to the forum, when you see MFT mentioned, it just refers to a neon tester screwdriver which is one of the most important tools a qualified electrician uses
i think i was issued with one of those at the centre....we were shown how to use it as well which was jolly decent of them i thought....
i just want to say thanks to all who have made me feel welcome....i feal like i am really in the club now.....
