Kewtechnik have ceased trading. The tools are being distributed by REL and the "socket and See" testers have been split between Kewtech and Test4Less.
So says David Harris who owned the company ;-)

Have nothing against Kew Technik and sorry that they are in difficulties. Any company that is UK based is sad to see go under.
I take it you have tried the "silly tool" or do you just enjoy rubbishing anything new ?
Are you aware that many big construction companies and colleges have BANNED the Stanley knife? WHY ? cos people injure themselves with it.

An Electricians' Knife should be used instead of a Stanley knife. A Stanley knife is a very dangerous tool.

ive gota say that when used properly, it is difficult to injure yourself with any tool. the problem is lack of training, and misuse of tools. I always use a stanley, as it is a versatile tool that does the job for me, and i dont injure myslef or others because im careful, and know how to use them safely.

I am with johnboy6083, lets go through the motions.
Open knife blade.
Carefully slice cable.
Retract knife blade.

Now, those that regularly cut themselves through carelessness need to sober up or should not even be electricians.

I cant remember the last time I was cut with a stanley knife, I automatically go into "safe mode" when using one.

Sharp knives , like fast cars, guns, screwdrivers etc are not dangerous, it's how they are used and who is using them that introduces the potential for danger. I'd feel safer with a sharp knife than a blunt one.

Thats me quitting being an electrician then, as I have cut myself on more than 1 occasion. Didn,t realise it was a warning that I was in the wrong job. lol
I,m pleased that you have never had any injuries at work but your not the norm. Why do you think that so much effort is being put into Zero Accident Policies on site?
Just out of curiosity have you ever made any mistakes ?

I sometimes get nicks from the stanley but find I have more control on the cutting action than with a non sharp blade. Can't remember the last time I had a notifiable injury, and of course I've made mistakes.

How about not having to use a knife to strip a cable there by removing the possibility of "nicks" Jeremy? If you had something that was safer surely it would be wise to use it>

Maybe if it were a little cheaper I would. Tried these new clever gadgets and they also end up in the back of the van never to be seen again:(
