I am currently having issues with my Alexa service on a sonos play one
Every time I try to start session by calling her name ,I get an immediate response with a
Sorry I am having trouble understanding you right now
I have tried disabling the skill and re-enabling ,but no change
any ideas Folks

Ow long have you been about though Gav, it takes a long time for the accent to mature into indecipherable gibberish, for Gods sake even Bristolians can't handle it, what chance does a computer enhance algorithm stand?

Working in folks houses I get to hear them trying to communicate with these devices. Some of what's said makes me think this is perhaps a subroutine triggered after the 1000th swear word .

You need to work for better customers that don't use vulgarisms in everyday life.

Yeah I know what the problem is I have had it a few times myself.

That answer is usually because the sync controller cannot connect to the internet but the ring goes red - is your ring red or have you just been having a Mexican nachos and Jalapenos night?

1) switch off Alexa then plug back in and retry - presume you already tried this but have to ask!
2) Switch off router and restart it (that is the usual fix)!!!
3) resync/reset your Alexa with your wireless network - ie go through the startup / setup again!
4) Ensure your Alexa is not nearby anything that can interfere with the internal wifi antenna - ie rf phones, microwave etc etc etc

If all else fails use the paper clip reset hole trick!

Why not try talking to real people, making actual friends, and posting proper letters?

It takes a bit of learning but it's really worth the effort. For more advanced pleasure, leave your mobile at home when you go out to socialise.
