Discuss LED Fluorescent Light Fitting - Standard Fluorescent Tube in the DIY Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

Normally a fluorescent tube will not operate in a fitting for led use and visa versa. I don't have huge experience of these things so someone may well have a different view.

I have used the led tubes they require L+N at on end of the tube only. All the drivers etc are inside the tube. So I confirm Richards above post is correct.

What i don't understand is why would you buy something 3 x more expensive to make it use something much cheaper to buy complete, I probably am missing something?

Take care with LED replacements for tubes (done a few) many require the starter and ballast to be removed but a few say they work with them left in. I've had some that seemed to work as described but would then flick off then on. Removing the starter and ballast was then requires.
Also some LED tubes come with the two pins on one end as L and the other two pins at the other end as N. So if you feed L & N to one end and fit the LED tube it all goes dark!
