Basically I have around 40 down lighter's on one circuit.

i have just replaced 20 low voltage, with mains voltage, fire rated down lighters, and 12w LED bulbs.

but they seem to be blowing straight away! Within the first day 6 have blown, whilst tripping the MCB!

now what could be causing this?

i can't see it being this many faulty bulbs?

it can't be overloaded, as all lights now have either 9w or 12w LED bulbs.

could it be a wiring issue?

they are not the silly cheap eBay specials, they are the aluminium shelled, dimmable ones with 4 LED's each.

any advice would be much appreciated.

Little update, I replaced all bulbs with a more expensive make, and only 6W, and they are still blowing!! So I think we can eliminate the bulbs as the issue.

ive tested the voltage which is 247V which is rather high, but electricity company said up to 253v is acceptable.

I have aver checked all wiring that is accessible, one neutral was rather loose, but apart from that could see no issues.

i have tried normal gu10 bulbs and they are fine, just the LEd's that are blowing.

any ideas.

cheers

what brand though? just because there mote expensive doesnt make them more reliable.

if they are under £4/5 inc vat each I would question the quality straight away.

its not worth skimping on them because for very little money you get a 5 year guarantee with a lot of gu10 led's
