Hi Guys
I was called to fault with a socket in a lift motor room the other day
I noticed that the lift was isolated by a 3 phase switch fuse
I thought this a bit odd because if one of the fuses ruptured it would leave a lift with 2 fuses possibly casing damage to the lift motor and controls
My thoughts are that instead of a 3phase switch fuse it should be a triple pole circuit breaker
thoughts would be appreciated
kind regards

our batch elevator has heat ducted into it so it is maintained at about 70 degrees (f)
(keeps the grease on the cabling and interlocks soft)
also our plant uses radio communications and round logging for batch tower operations
(when the attendant leaves the control room he has to log it in the computer and has to carry the radio with him even if its just to go to the restroom.
our shop monitors the control room computer on the afternoon and night shifts.
and we know how long it takes for the attendant to make their rounds.)

anyhow the particular attendant i was talking about is a bully and contemptible git who deserves all the crap he gets.

@ tony sorry that that happened to you but thats the kind of thing we strive to prevent
we as electricians and other workers need to focus on being proper teams instead of competing with each other all the time.
