So your lights work but there's nothing supplying electricity to them? Come on mate, what do you expect other than **** taking.
Just because we point and laugh it doesn't automatically mean we don't like you.
The lights have to be getting juice from somewhere, they're not getting it from the power of positive thought or by using the force. Isolate the whole CU and turn on the MCBs one by one, as you turn one on check to see if they come on. If they do they're getting a feed from the circuit you just switched on. Come back after you've tried that.

How exactly are you carrying out your testing , could you be getting back feed from another circuit cross connected further down the original circuit ?

thanks for all your abuse guys I was actually very serious with this question have spent hours trying to sort out this problem tested R1+R2 at furthest point in circuit all the way back to first light in circuit still no continuity in circuit then using wander lead found I had continuity in cpc and neutral but open circuit in live including switching .I thought this site would be helpful but if this is all I get I suppose I was better off wihout you thanks!

If you had told us all of that to start with you would have got a better response! your first post made you look like you didn't have a clue, however if you had told us you had carried out the recommended tests at that point everyone would have taken a much more favourable view of your post.

Like anything in life the more effort you put in the better the results will be, give us good detail in your first post and the answers will be a lot more useful.

Based on the information in the post above I would suggest you check that you have the correct live conductor for the circuit at the board. You may find two of the lighting circuit lives are mixed up in realation to the cpc and neutrals.

Dont be precious geez, you'll get eaten alive on a building site! :dunce2: :59:

thanks for your reply I have tried all of that I hace also had a napit assessor look at with me for an hour and even he did not know the problem just thought by chance I may get someone to take this seriously and have an answer

thanks will have a look at what im testing on when I get the chance is this site always full of abuse?

This site has virtually no abuse on it when compared to some other forums, the rules appear to be very strict about it around here.

If you want abuse join this forum LandyZone - Land Rover Forum and ask them what the biggest size tyres you can put on a freelander are. They'll drive you to suicide if you think the gentle mocking you've had here is abuse!

Talk about the blind leading the blind ! He was probably a """"ing window cleaner three weeks ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not that I think you are not the part yourself , but I was more making a point about the scams !

what range is you meter on continuity, 20 ohms??? if so, a resistance > 20 will show as open circuit, but with 240V up it, the lights will work.
