Hi,

Just been round someones house, they have recently had the bathroom done and the electrician fitted a bathroom mirror with integral light, the light was on permanently and would not switch off. They did ask for it to come on with the light...

Anyway, I popped in the loft to sort it, and look at this, its inexcusable isn't it. How do people sleep at night.

I have tidied it all up and put it all in wago connectors in proper wago enclosures, and am going back next week to do some other jobs for them.

The electrician is Indian... and lives and works in Leicester, theres only one that I know of who is Indian and works as an Electrician, he needs shooting and reporting, when I go back next week ill check out the certificate he handed over, unfortunately they couldnt put their hands on it today.

Post the pictures with comments on his facebook page if he has one. That's what I'd do
But I'm a horrible person :)

You're a big bloody softy with a big kind heart!! You just like to give the impression your a hard nut!!

You may get him struck off UK.. but struck off from what? Even if he is registered with one of the schemes that would only stop him from doing notifiable work, he'll still be able able to continue doing all non-notifiable work. Plus if his work is that poor I doubt he's too concerned about the correct procedure with regards notifiable work, so he'll probably just keep doing it.

With work that dangerously bad (live terminals not covered), I think I'd be tempted to take pictures and actually send them to the chap and ask for an explanantion! Of course he wont reply, plus you dont have any authority to do that but it may give him a bit of a jolt that someone has noticed his poor work!

You do put up alot of these pictures/stories UK.. I'm beginning to wonder if there really is this illusive Indian chap.

It won't even stop him from doing notifiable work, it will only stop him from being able to notify work!

Rough jobs like that are nothing new and haven't just appeared on the scene they have been around since day one , it's just now we can broadcast it because we have the means to do it. You will always get lazy sods , or the type that just don't care.

Why does Tom mention the nationality of the person who did this rough work? There are plenty of white, black, pakistani, eastern european sparks and other nationalities that would do the same rough job.

Because the customer said he was Indian.... Actually just to add, I said to the customer, was he smoking whilst here? They said yes, why? I said there's a few smoke butts I your loft above the bathroom.

That is shocking but the company shoukd be complained to as a first point of call. It could have been a disgruntled employee that wants to screw over the company by doing a few dodgy jobs. The company may well sort it and do the right thing. Then again he could be a complete cowboy.

Got to be careful here friend, because unless you KNOW the facts, concerning this "Tradesman",better to just state "Person".
Customers are notorious for stretching the truth, including blaming a "usual suspect",when it may have been some dude from the pub/relative or even sometimes.....themselves!
One thing i have learnt from working all about this planet,is Rajpots, pretenders and messers, are NOT unique to any race, creed or locality.
Job looks to register low,on the quality scale, but there are MUCH scarier examples out there...:icon12:
