well if kewtech were japanese ....its just that they arn`t.....made in a dedicated factory in china mate....this helps kewtech corporation keep the reigns on quality control...There are plenty of descent manufacturers of Line-Earth looptesters, and you don’t have to be buying fluke. Those with the best marketing strategyseem to be the most popular, it doesn’t necessarily make them the betteroption. It’s a bit like Gucci or Armani! The flukes have been known to sufferblank screen and throw out a few error codes after a bit of rough treatment.
You can’t go wrong with the jap gear, nothing wrong with it.Look at Kewtech(Kyoritsu) for example, solid work horse you can kick around thestreet and it still works with values unchanged. Unit is also good, solid & reliable stuff. Afterall, most of the stuff we plug in these days causing the high leakage currents, and throwing up tripping issues in domestic RCD protected installs are loadedwith Japanese equipment. Their test instruments are no different in quality totheir TVs, Cars, and Motor bikes. You just got to ensure you grab the rightbrand.
There seems to be some tidy stuff on ebay lately. You may beable to save a few ÂŁÂŁÂŁ as well. Good luck with that!
trust me Tony...i wasn`t laughing at you mate...far from it.....of course i understand how such a CSA of cable would allow you to acheave such low readings.....You may laugh Glen.
We had two trolleys with 200m of 70mm welding cable on each reeling drum. We were looking for readings in Micro/Mili ohms.
trust me on this pal....i dont need to stalk anyone.....got enough on as it is...do you suffer from attention deficiency?..oh and by the way...kewtech instruments are made in a factory in....oh let me see now...ah yesJapanese, Chinese, same part of the world. They seem to useand share the same manufacturing facilities for many a product, I doubt testmeters would be any different. Just a quick question - Are you stalking me???Never had my own stalker before, I feel privileged!! lol..
I was just trying to give the guy a little help on saving afew £££s I can’t remember seeing you offering the same assistance! Oh! that’s right you ask him if he could test live! I don’t think he asked anyone to ask himif he could test live. I’m sure that wasn’t the response he was looking formate.
Next time you pop into see me say Hi names on the left side of thepost!
it wasn`t the cheap, junk thing i was laughing at here eng.....it was the nonsense that was linetech in #21. I know that the kewtech corparation have a tight hold on the quality control at this factory that produces test instruments for em...i have used kewtech stuff in the past and found it to be...hmm, well its ok.....I think most manufactures now offset at least some of there manufacturing facilities in China these days. These companies build and run the factories, using the same components and standards as they would manufacturing anywhere else in the world. How long that is going to last is another matter, the cost of living and therefore wages are increasing all the time!!!
I can still remember when everything out of Japan was classed as cheap junk, how many can still say the same today?? lol!! China is presently in that mindset among the Western countries, but in fact a lot of the goods coming out of China are made by the same company that you'll be familiar with in the West. So if it's well known branded equipment, that's being sold by a reputable company (hasn't been faked), it'll be exactly the same as if it was made in any Western country...
