As we want to trade with the EU after we leave, whatever we want to sell, will have to comply with EU Regulations.rhought we were getting out of the bloody EU.

Yes, but we would also be able to sell the items that do comply with the rest of the world. That's ever so slightly misleading........
If we want to sell products to the "other" 6.5 billion people, such products won't have to comply.
and the reverse is also true.we should have a UK regulation that vans don't rot away in 10 years. that'd upset mercedes. As we want to trade with the EU after we leave, whatever we want to sell, will have to comply with EU Regulations.

So manufacturer’s can either produce one model that can be sold anywhere, or two.
One that can be sold anywhere and one that can only be sold outside of the EU.
like the austin metro, MG metro, both a pile of jonk?Yes ......... then its a commercial decision for the manufacturer ......
There is nothing saying that ALL products, for sale around the world would need to meet EU standards.
The UK used to be really good at "badge" engineering so its not too difficult to produce slight variants of products....
