the sink could become live as copper onto braided onto taps and sink, if no bonding imbalance only when someone touched the sink.

I think you are confusing earthing and bonding, they are two entirely different things and do not serve the same purpose. Bonding has nothing to do with preventing pipes becoming live.

Anyway back to my original post there is a large amount of copper pipe that diappears into the walls(dry lined) cooper everywhere i looked (my be plastic in places who knows) bond or not?

check page 38 IEE elec guide build regs 17 edtion [plastic supply pipes]. where supply pipe and installation pipework both plastic no need to main bond. small tails to sinks etc do not count. hope this helps

Yes I am aware of this reg although as always in the regs alot of grey areas, there is more than just "tails" in copper.

clean water does not conduct electricity

I'm afraid it ''Does'' conduct electricity my friend!!! The only water that is Not conductive is Distilled or demineralized water. That is the water you see aimed up at HV transmission linesand pylons to clean the insulators.

Now if that water was conductive, the operator would end up like fried chicken...lol!! The operator is also a licenced operative to undertake such work and is responsible for testing the waters conductivity prior to any work being carried out!!!

Yes but the ERA have tested and found that tap water is in fact a very poor conductor of electricity to be honest, and in a domestic installation should not be taken into any bonding scenario. It was found that Central heating water that had all kinds of inhibitors in were the most conductive but even those are neglible in a domestic situation.

Paul Cook did a great article many years in the IET magazine Wiring Matters i'll try and see if I have a copy and post it.
