To hell with the regulations, if it don't move bond it.

Years back I was running a SWA to my shed, on the way I found a disused 3" gas main only about 3' from the earth pit. A bit of cleaning with a file and emery and a 19/.044 was run to the earth pit. The connection was protected with a coating of trinidite compound.

Which is better, a 2m rod or 200m of steel thats been there and well settled for 60 years?

Did I do right or wrong?


Wrong.....1. you used it as an earth electode....you didnt bond it
2. you should have 'exported the earth'...it was only a shed..........................:wink_smile:
