If I change a main db that supplies multiple sub-dis boards, how extensive do I test? Can I just test the main db and supply cables to existing sub boards? Or do I have to test all the outgoing circuits of sub db too? I would complete a full eicr before.

theoretical question btw.

I would only test the circuits from the board you have changed, not the circuits from the boards they feed.....if that makes sense?? i.e if you change a db in a house and that db feeds a garage db aswell, you would only test the circuit feeding the garage db, not the garage installation.

I would of thought you only have to test what you change and do a quick functional test on what it feeds should suffice? Or check c.p.c if worried.

You only need to carry out tests on supply circuits leaving the board you are going to change and also verify correct earthing and bonding and main supply parameters. Make a note on your EIC of the extent of works and testing completed (this will cover you)

well if i carried out a full periodic prior to the db change i wouldnt do any further tests after other than Zs measurement at each db.
pointless unless you enjoying doing it all twice.
;-)

You would only be responsible for the circuits you worked on, this doesn't include final circuits supplied from the distribution circuits you altered. Even if you were to find some C2ish defects
you could still re-connect and list it in departures, you're still making the place safer.

So if you changed a db in a home you would just reconnect the garage sub main without even looking at what's on the end of it?

No I would test garage submain at the db nothing else.
You can't be responsible for everything else in the property, imagine the situation if you were changing the main incoming panel in factory, you wouldn't test the entire of the place

Actual test that should be done are the Sub board as this is the main board like a DB in a house, only the circuits you change so sub boards are not necacery(lol spell) to be tested, only the feeds to the boards etc.
