Hi,

I have just been and looked at a house for my mate, he has a earth rod in his front garden which has a 4mm cable from it to the mains board. OBV this is too small..

What are the solutions as this rod is no longer accessible - he paved over it >,<

I was thinking maybe putting a new ROD under the mains board under the floor boards, BUT i read abit about hitting water mains and gas mains how do you know were the water or gas mains are!..

Also is there any other solution? Get Electric Board in or anything

Cheers All

Simple answer, dig the path up!

A sugestion for you're, "mate" get someone that knows what they are doing.

It's amazing how many mates of electricians seem to have electrical problems that have the electrician scratching their head.

OK I'm an old cynic!

did you get a Ze here by any chance?...
or is this another one of those `let me see` threads.....where a piece of test gear hasn`t been anyware near the install....and us lot in here are supposed to just do a bit of `guess work` on your behalf?
well i can tell you now i`m not for guessing....
go away....get a Ze for a start

Thought it was an RA on TT

You guys are pretty boring o_O..

I've never installed or worked with an earth rod before - therefore i could troul the internet for ages, or look through reg book for ages.. BUT atm im way too busy so simple solution post on here, come back in an hour or so after doing other work find answer BOOM..

Simply found now 4mm is big enough job done -_-'

Why you people have to get up on your high horse i have no idea, ive been qualified for 1 year.. I not been in trade for 20+ years like most of you..

When you had qualified for 1 year, did you know the answers to all these questions - i think not. Otherwise you most likely would have got of your lazy arses and done something better with your life's than an Electrician -_-.. Plan on retiring as a sparky? You had all your life to find a better paid job with the qualifications you have

Why i left this site, full of utter nobs simple questions to find simple answers and everyone gets on the high horse with all this 'knowledge' they know

PUT IT TO A GOOD USE AND PROGRESS IN LIFE

REMOVED
Good bye

:63:Hang on a minute, you were the one doing the asking, the lads on here were trying to point you in the right direction, or did you just expect to be spoon fed the answer ?, all because you are too busy to, a) learn something, and b) look it up yourself. clue it is in the regs if you bothered to look.

I couldnt be bothered to look no sorry, thats why i posted on here =] if i could have been bothered to look i would have, and i would have found the answer but like i said im too busy working nights atm been doing 4pm - 7am everyday.... get back home for 8.. sleep till 3 back at work

Boring life

No time for nothing!
