Hi,

I have just been and looked at a house for my mate, he has a earth rod in his front garden which has a 4mm cable from it to the mains board. OBV this is too small..

What are the solutions as this rod is no longer accessible - he paved over it >,<

I was thinking maybe putting a new ROD under the mains board under the floor boards, BUT i read abit about hitting water mains and gas mains how do you know were the water or gas mains are!..

Also is there any other solution? Get Electric Board in or anything

Cheers All

Are you working all these hours as a spark or maybe a DJ in a club lol
I couldnt be bothered to look no sorry, thats why i posted on here =] if i could have been bothered to look i would have, and i would have found the answer but like i said im too busy working nights atm been doing 4pm - 7am everyday.... get back home for 8.. sleep till 3 back at work

Boring life

No time for nothing!

Ha KAS

long story put short mate, my brother applied for a job on NHS - he didnt have the qualifications (hes a nurse, applied for a manager nurse position didnt have manager qual) and got it. So was speaking with him he said just go apply for every job and say you are what they want and put down your qualifiactions go to interview take them your certs and blag it.

So i did... applied for Electrical Engineer told them all my certificates for Electrician and just said i been doing Electrical Engineering for 5 years 4 of them were apprentice and 1 year as qualified and then had interview showed him certs guy was like oh wow these are ok blah blah talked SH!T to him

Then he just said yeh your best we seen so far, you have the job

I was like WTF 50k a year, company Audi A6 13 plate.... And all i do is drive around sites telling people who are Cable Jointing if there doing it ok, make sure they are... Order cable gear etc for the guys make sure ground works there, then cable jointers then ground works to fill in etc.... Thats it

Spend 50% time in office, 50% of time in Audi A6 driving round giving orders at 23..

When you had qualified for 1 year, did you know the answers to all these questions - i think not.
I'd been qualified a few weeks and came across a problem, I went to my mentor with it because I knew he would know the answer. He looked at me for a while and said " What are you asking me for? You're qualified now, you're supposed to know this stuff now f off and figure it out".
I thought it very harsh at the time but looking back he did me a massive favour that day by forcing me to stand on my own 2 feet. Maybe if I'd had an internet forum to fall back on I'd still be a whiny little git trying to be a keyboard warrior.
Enjoy the rest of your time with us because with your attitude I don't think it'll be long.
