hi guys i have a makita bhp 451 cordless drill that has a 13mm chuck which is playing up, i want to replace it with a 13mm bosch from amazon

anyone know if chucks are universal or do i need to buy another makita one?

thanks in advance chris

I have the same drill, just out of curiosity, what's up with it?
Sorry cant help with your question. One of the other guys will though

You just need to know the thread size on the chuck that you have.
There is normally a screw inside the chuck that locks the chuck into the motor spindle, take that out first or you will be at it forever trying to get the chuck off, it stops the chuck unscrewing when you use reverse.

You can see the screw in these when they have the SDS adapter

i was told the BHP 451-3 have a pressed on chuck. This was from makita directly as my chuck started playing up also.. it seems to click and not undo/tighten up sometimes
