I do not know why you cannot use a long nib marker for £2 and more than 250 uses, unless you have holes deeper than 30mm.

Its great I love it, it was on Dragons Den I seen it and instantly said to the missus I need that, normally have to try and scrape a mark with a thin screwdriver, this is good but only got holes up to 45mm.

The fixing holes on weatherproof sockets are 50-60mm at a guess, which is why I mentioned those, I used the screwdriver method, but I struggle to keep them level when I've drilled and plugged the holes I've marked. Even on smooth walls lol

What on earth is a long nib marker - totally new to me. What's it used for?
It's like a picture of a fish they bring up from the deep all weird looking and new!

It does what is says on the, er, "tin cover" : for marking deep holes and inspections.
Also useful for getting close to the edge of an outline.

Where do you normally buy them Richard ? I've sharpened pencils with a knife before to give a very thin longer end but that's a faff.

I think the last place was Cromwell tools, because I was buying other things at the same time. But I think amazon and ebay have them.
(The marxman maybe more useful, but I do not have one of those!)

So the UK stockists are Wickes and Screwfix ..... Says it all... Aimed at DIYers or bodgers

They're turning up in wholesalers too, wilsons in Guildford have got them.

Great to see a few reviews on this some good and some not so good. I have used them on the waterproof sockets and they work fine I could never get any pencil or marker to mark these out. I payed £6 for mine at Eddys so worth every penny.
Think I disagree with the post on aimed at the DIYer as just because its sold in Wickes and screwfix as a few trades on my jobs have looked at it and brought one themselves.
