Megger of fluke??

Hi all,

I am looking to buy myself some testers as i need to get more practice before my nic inspection.

im currently looking at megger 1552's or fluke 1652/ 1653. I don't have massive amount of money to spend as im just going out on my own.........

What's everyone's thoughts on the testers im looking at and how much would people expect to pay second hand on here or on the dreaded flebay.

Cheers for any help and advice in advance Ashley.

£300 that's bad then as i have no idea what the second hand ones are worth.. i can only find out the price of them new.

Are the flukes good to use then? as i have my t5's and they are really good. how much is a good price for the trsters then?
1552
1553
1652
1653

cheers for your reply's by the way

cheers for that i know what to look out for now, is there any point in bidding on this now as everyone else on here that wants one will bid against me???

that link wont work bud, after read and looking around im still not sure weather to get a megger 1152 or the fluke 1652 or 1653. Its a shame there are no company's that will do lay away like the snap on man

I think it's just personal preference mate.

My college (well, OLCI (if you can call it a college) ) used Megger 1552s, so I learnt using them, but one of the tutors swore by his Fluke 1652 and a previous sparky I used to work with had flukes so it was a name I was aware of.

I decided to go for the fluke because of that, even if the brand name implies "luck"!

Mate, please please DO NOT scrimp on testing equipment. It could save your life one day... There are so many good ones out there on the market that I reckon you should do some research and try to find sites that sell the type that you want; but ALSO have a good many reviews. Good luck mate, and welcome.
