That'll be in the January review then ;-)
Currently there are no meters out there that will work with import and export metering. If you have an old dial meter that is clocking backwards it needs replacing with a new digital one asap. The old dial one will burn out and could cause a fire. The new digital meter will flash up with rED- reverse energisation.
Really? More friction going backwards than forwards? Can you direct us to the source of this information? Be interesting to read this and I'm sure all suppliers would also be very concerned over this as not one of them has replaced a meter we have notified as going backwards!
British gas are replacing all dial meters with landis and gyr e110 meters as they have done various tests with the dial meters and reverse flow through them. They had a few get hot a show signs of smouldering. It is worst case scenario that a fire will start. I will try and upload the document we have been issued from british gas.
Not sure about the other suppliers. They trialed 1000 analogue meters old and new and the same problem was found. Wether its down to friction i wouldnt know, im only passing on what we have been told about dial meters and reverse flow. Like i said i will try and upload what we were given. I myself thought it wouldnt cause any major problems with the meter, infact i just thought, because dial meters clock backwards with reverse flow, this would mess the billing up.
