Meter ID help/ Economy 7

Guys

Could anyone tell me if this is the meter which has the on/off peak rates?
The house has economy 7 and it was connected to the output closest to the front of the meter, im presuming this output costs less per kw/h ??
The guy wants a CCU change and all circuits in one CCU as at the moment they are spread across 3 units with the economy 7 circuits (4) in one CCU fed by the output closest to the front of the meter.
As you can tell ive not had a lot of experience with E7

your pic doesn't show what type of meter that it. single or dual tariff. there is only 1 output from that meter. the 2 left cables are the feed in from the cut-out, and the 2 on the right are N and L out. and when did the cover fall off?

so in this situation , do you just split the tails and have a second meter and econemy 7 circuits comming off that dual meter

maybe i'm missing the mark but most e7 installs will have a meter with either 5 terminals or 4 terminals with auxiliary wires leading to a time switch or contactor. It doesn't look like the correct meter to be honest.

sorry for that. it's almost impossible to see more than 4 tails in that pic. on second look i can just make out anther N label behind.

so isit one meter that covers both normal rates and off peak for heating...

Yeah one meter with a built in time switch that allows the load to pass at the agreed peak or off peak times.

could you add your tumble dryer onto this off peak supply, would they know??

That's a pretty standard economy 7 meter. The Eco 7 live tail comes out of the terminal on the front and then you put the neutral into a henley block and the take one to the peak D.B and one to the off peak D.B

ha ha the fifth terminal should be just for your storage heaters, two rate meters are only any good if you have storage heaters or your up doing your washing all night.

The whole supply switches over at the time stipulated by the meter. You would need to put the tumble drier on a timer to get it to use the cheaper electricity

if the whole supply switches over, it is cheaper to do washing at night then~???? ive noticed it go up a good bit..

Ha Ha but your live supply at the fourth terminal is straight into your cu. just wait till they configure smart meters to cut you off remotely. Scary
