Hi,

I'm trying to find a tool for removing inner and outer insulation for 25mm meter tails.
I have tried everywhere, does anyone know of a good stripping tool, if so please the name or link where to buy.

Many thanks

Paul.

I have some CK cable shears, they have a serated part on the blade for cutting, and a very sharp curved pair of blades for stripping back. Awesome tool and about £30 from wholsalers, they will also cut through SY and small diameter SWA.

Cheers..........Howard

I am with Rocker....Stanley for me also!

Flukey, I feel given the influx of 'electricians' you may be able to sell your plasters for a premium, perhaps instead of electricians forum pens we should have plasters with the forum logo on?????

sounds like a plan lol.

some of the questions asked lately by "qualified electricians" beggars belief, hopefully its only plasters needed

I will get it out of my tool box and tell you the name. It is brilliant as it strips both inner and out to the perfect length and square.

electrician's knife, sidecutters, or cable shears. whichever comes to hand first. prefer cable shars as then i can trim the ends of the conductor strands to same length after bending cable.

More important than torque, is to settle the strands of the cable as you tighten the screws. Pity that a few more meter installers aren't familiar...

Also good for cutting strands of cable armour, although I try to restrict their use to copper.
