I expect the OP has learnt the technique by now; well I hope so.I will get it out of my tool box and tell you the name. It is brilliant as it strips both inner and out to the perfect length and square.

Stripping with cable shears is not a good idea, to much pressure and you damage the conductor use a knife like a proper tradesman and do the job correctly, cable shears indeed?i use my cable croppers, works just fine for me

Some people are very dexterous and can moderate the force they apply to a tool, I'm one of those naturally gifted individuals.
I would however never deign to belittle lesser, ham fisted, "tradespersons" whose only option is to struggle on with the inferior methods that fit their skill set, it would be unkind.

More so with, a pair of cable shears, though, the operative word being "Shears" you may not like it but think about.Too much pressure on any tool used to strip a cable will damage the conductor.

I use a folding knife, much more manageable and safer. BUT then again everyone has their preference.Any tool used for stripping causes a blade to be pressed or scored across the conductor, be it shears, pliers, a knife or a proprietary built stripping tool...
It’s the pressure used that causes damage.
personally, I use a Stanley knife
