Recently, I've spotted this in a customers garage...
The main consumer unit in one corner of the garage and a garage consumer unit in the other.
The tails have been split with a henley block beneath the main CU and 25mm tails run up into the garage loft space, run over the beams unclipped, and down to the garage CU on the other side. The length of the tails is about 7mtrs. I've also noticed that the tails in the loft have been joined with another henley block which is just sitting there flapping about.
I've told the guy that this looks a bit dodgy but that I would check it out.
I reckon that it needs a main switched fuse on the DIY tails to put things right. Possibly replace the DIY tails with 25mm SWA? The garage CU is, after all, a sub-main. What do you reckon?
