I know/hope you were joking mate but from a Scot - We are just fine thanks. Free prescriptions for all. Free education and our UNITE branch pays for our Regs courses as well as the C & G 2394/5. Just because we may/or may not want to divorce from the UK does not mean we have any chip on out shoulders lol. I have lived and worked in kent most of my working life....Back in Scotland now but plenty friends and family still down there. You will find that the most narrow minded people from both sides of the border are generally 1. People who have never been to the place they talk about or 2. They meet < 10 people from that country and base their opinion on that......Oh yes and the last option is 3. Maybe they have been treated like an a-hole because they are indeed an a-hole lol.....This applies to all people from the world over mate....maybe you should get out more lol.

**I meant to add why would us Jocks be unhappy with our lot when we have all this socialist stuff coming our way that our elected government delivered to us as promised. You could also add bedroom tax to that list too as the Scottish government now pay that for its citizens.
Remember before anyone says that England pays for us Jocks to have all that...we still pay more to the exchequer than we get back AND we pay more tax per head than anywhere else in the UK.....it's ok though you're welcome haha.
BTW I am of the opinion that the only reason Alex Salmond and his party exist is because of the delusional fools who keep voting in bloody right wing governments and that includes the last New Labour lot....Be better to vote green ffs. I believe New Labour was/is a reaction to the proportion of people who believe (wrongly imho) that they are not working class and therefore vote accordingly. I think if you work for someone even as a subby then you are working class. It therefore goes on that working class people are better off under a socialist government.

If England had the same spend that Scotland has per head, no doubt we'd have the same "luxuries" paid for by the state.

Which proves you either didn't read or didn't understand the rest of the post. BTW the UNITE funding is from the EU. And just to help you out the barnet formula is where it is worked out how much of the tax take that Scotland pays that it gets back. RUK do not subsidise anyone especially Scotland. Even the NO (Better together camp) have given up trying to pretend otherwise.....Like I said in my post RUK gain from Scottish tax take.....And your welcome we don't need a thankyou haha.

It was a tad tongue in cheek mate. Shame about their policies as some of the "good policies" are more socialist than labour - But yes not electable in reality. Need that young kid Owen Jones to leave the Labour party and get a decent party set up from the work done by the people's assembly. That would be a party worth a vote IMHO.

I like Owen Jones, I like him a lot, but there are a few things I can't stand about him, and one of those things is his uber-pc, liberal apologism! If he had his way, the whole of Somalia would be given our passports so they could all come over and just make themselves at home!!

Lol I almost give up but not quite....Where do you think the UK government gets the cash that goes into the pot that the Barnett Formula then splits up among the UK ? Take your time mate I know its hard to grasp lol. I know you want to think that your tax subsidises other countries but the reality is quite different. For the last 30+ years Scotland has paid more to the exchequer than it has received back in whatever form you want to look at it. Now if we go back longer then we got more than we gave...so it swings in roundabouts so to speak. Given that Scotland has an ageing population then it will probably swing back the other way in say 20 years or so...but not at the moment.
So Barnett formula or bloody pocket money call it what you will but it is a system of distributing cash that London receives from all of the UK.
Like I say your welcome to it - I would rather we stuck together with a better devolution of powers. Tax raising powers ect. But anyway I am sure I have bored you enough by now....I will leave this until Friday lol.

The BOTTOM LINE is that England spends less per head than the other Countries within the Union because its allocated less by Central Government.

And Scotland has more than 50% of people empolyed by the state too.

So because your EU slant was just blown out the water you decide to attack Wales because they get more than they give lol. Question - Was it always the case that Wales got more than they gave ? Do you think decisions in London have had a good or bad effect on Wales ?
Back to the big bad EU - Instead of moaning about what others get why not see if your union (If you are a member) can get the same funding to help hard pressed sparks in your region ? In glasgow it was all started and arranged by just 1 man. It is a bit bigger than that now but 1 man done some research and got the ball rolling.....£1500 worth of courses all free to us ordinary working men ....that is a lot of union dues. That is not the end of it either you get subsidised ECS test too for unite members.
This may seem as if I am having a dig...I am not I am actually trying to motivate people to fight for this stuff for yourself. Ask your regional officer to find out how glasgow unite branch manage this....find out what needs to be done to get the same deal - maybe when people start using the EU funding that is available for many things they would look at it differently. Yes the EU is wasteful yes it is a goliath. Yes it needs reform. But use it, take your part, at least you can then say YOU have broke even and the EU don't own YOU....hope you guys get my drift.
